Urban Mission Ministries - Women's Homeless Shelter

If you or someone you know needs emergency shelter, the Urban Mission operates three shelters in downtown Steubenville, Ohio. Our shelters are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. For single women or women with children seeking shelter, please visit our shelter location at 408 North 5th Street, Steubenville, OH, 43952. You do not need to call first.

Our shelters are considered low barrier shelters, but we are unable to accept guests on the Sexual Offender Registry at this time.

No ID is needed to stay at the shelter, although we encourage you to bring your important documents with you.

At an Urban Mission shelter, guests receive wraparound services so that they can locate permanent housing, a steady income, and community resources as they transition into a stable living situation. Spiritual care services, life skills and empowerment classes, and work opportunities are also available to shelter guests while staying at the Urban Mission.
